Cross-Platform Prototype Development - React Native
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
The prototype was implemented cross-platform using React Native and Firebase as a backend. Fundamental implementation choices prioritized security and interoperability: Security: AES-256 encryption of data at rest; TLS for data in transit; role-based access by family members versus clinicians. Interoperability: A modular API with FHIR-compatible endpoints for eventual EHR/RPM integration. Offline capability: local caching and deferred sync to accommodate intermittent connectivity.
Accessibility: large font toggle, voice prompts, and simple language; eventual localization into Swahili and French for pilot implementations in East Africa and West Africa.
Care dashboard (daily/weekly view): Task list with confirmations and shared task assignment among multiple family caregivers. Tasks can be repeated, snoozed, or delegated.
Symptom & vitals logging: Instant three-tap logging (weight, blood pressure, edema, cramps, itching) with default prompts for common values and optional free text. Each log auto-timestamps and stores metadata (who logged it).
Education micro-modules: 2–4-minute videos and 150–300-word infographics for vascular access care, diet modification, and calling urgent care. Modules are paginated and opened through short quizzes to encourage participation.
Secure chat & escalation: End-to-end encrypted messaging to the clinic inbox with optional escalation to a phone call if certain thresholds are met. Clinician response templates accelerate triage responses.
Caregiver wellbeing tools: Rapid stress screen (single-item mood check), guided relaxation exercises, and referrals to local support groups.
Alerting & thresholding: Variable thresholds (e.g., weight gain >2 kg in 48 hours) with caregiver and clinician notification options; has a "snooze" and "acknowledge" workflow to avoid redundancy.
