Supabase-Integrated React Web App Developer
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
React + Supabase Developer — Workplace Verification of Competency Web App
Fixed price · AEST timezone preferred · Full spec and working prototype provided
Note: the budget shown is a placeholder. I expect bids in the $800–$1,200 USD range for a complete, quality build. Bids significantly below this will not be considered.
What this project is
I need a developer to wire up a fully-designed React prototype into a production web application. The UI is complete — you are not designing anything. Your job is to connect it to a real database (Supabase), add authentication, and set up automated email delivery.
The application is called SpecialisedVOC. It is a workplace verification of competency platform used to record and certify that workers can safely operate specific pieces of machinery. It handles approximately 3,000 assessments per year across multiple assessors and sites.
The prototype (React .jsx file) and a full developer specification document are ready to send to shortlisted applicants. You will not be guessing at requirements — everything is documented.
What needs to be built
The prototype runs entirely in-memory. You need to replace the simulated state with real services:
• Supabase database — schema provided, 7 tables, row-level security policies specified
• Supabase Auth — assessor and admin login (email + password). Candidate path requires no login.
• Real-time data — replace in-memory React state with live Supabase queries across all three user flows
• PDF certificate generation — react-pdf, rendered from the existing certificate layout in the prototype
• Email delivery via Resend — two triggers: knowledge check submission confirmation, and VOC certificate on assessment completion
• Admin CRUD panel — manage machinery types, tasks, question banks, and practical checklists
• Staging environment — separate Supabase project at a staging subdomain, required before production go-live
• Production deployment — Netlify or Vercel, connected to GitHub for auto-deploy
Three user interfaces (all in one app)
Candidate Phone / browser. No login. Enrols, nominates machinery, completes a 10-question knowledge check, receives a reference number. Flow is 4 steps.
Assessor iPad / browser. Authenticated. Searches candidates by name or reference number, reviews knowledge check responses, conducts practical assessment via checklist, issues VOC certificate.
Admin Desktop / browser. Authenticated. Full register, statistics dashboard, manages assessors and question banks.
Tech stack
Frontend React (Vite) — prototype is a single .jsx file
Database / auth Supabase (PostgreSQL + Supabase Auth)
Email Resend
PDF react-pdf
Hosting Netlify or Vercel
Repository GitHub — you set it up and hand over access
Do not propose an alternative stack. The stack is fixed. If you are not experienced with React and Supabase specifically, please do not apply.
Estimated effort
Based on the documented scope, I estimate 41–58 hours of development work. The UI is complete — no design time is required. Quote based on your assessment of the spec, not this estimate.
Payment will be split into two milestones:
• Milestone 1 (50%) — staging environment live, all features working, product owner sign-off
• Milestone 2 (50%) — production deployed, domain configured, repository and Supabase access handed over
What I will send shortlisted applicants
• The working React prototype (.jsx file) — open in any browser, fully interactive
• Developer specification document (Word) — system overview, complete database schema with SQL, RLS policies, stack decisions, prototype guide, scope, delivery requirements, and clarifying questions
You will have everything you need to quote accurately before committing to the project.
What I need from you
In your application, please include:
• Your fixed price quote (AUD ONLY)
• Confirmation that you have experience with React and Supabase — ideally a link to a project or past work that used both
• Your timezone and typical working hours
• Estimated turnaround from project start to staging sign-off
Applications without a quote and without evidence of React + Supabase experience will not be considered. Generic applications will be declined.
