React developer for Fintech startup
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
We are building a web\mobile experience to help investors understand what values are important to them when it comes to making investment decisions and then assisting in turning those values into investment portfolios. You can learn more about us here: www.SeekInvest.com
The first phase of the project was the creation of an online survey where the investor quantifies their interest in certain values (anti-carbon emissions\pro-renewable energy). The next phase, where we need additional engineering resources is to help us turn these expressions of value into actionable investment decisions.
Primary responsibilities are:
• Architect, build and maintain a React application with clean code for the browser\desktop along with a responsive mobile experience.
• Integrate third-party APIs.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Work as part of a small team, which will include other developers, a product manager, and a UI/UX designer.
• Complete two-week sprints and participate in sprint retrospectives and daily standups.
• Assist with building estimates.
• Ability to work with minimum written requirements.
• Interface with clients via MS Teams and email.
• Work with tools including Figma, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.
Bonus skills that will set you apart:
• Strong cloud experience, preferably Azure but AWS ok
• React native
• GraphQL
• .Net Core\C#
Requirements:
• 3 to 5 years software development experience that includes 2+ years experience with React
• Strong English skills, both verbal and written - not optional
• Ability to be available for a large part of a US time zone - EST, CST, or PST - we can be somewhat flexible on this
• Willingness to mentor the less skilled React developers on the team
• Reliable equipment and infrastructure
If things work out well, and it makes sense for both parties, there is a lot of additional work to get done over the next 6-12 months and beyond. Could eventually be a permanent gig if both parties agree.
We are a FinTech startup with our headquarters in Chicago, IL, but we are a completely remote/virtual workforce. Very relaxed atmosphere, the primary rule is "get it done", no micromanaging. We try hard to keep a good work/life balance even though it is a startup - if you need PTO we'll accommodate anything reasonable.
The selection process will be pretty streamlined:
* An introductory call to go over the basics, availability, goals, etc.
* An in-depth interview with all the decision-makers to fill in any information gaps, discuss some technical details, complete background review, address concerns, etc. We aren't Google so there will not be brain-teasers or online coding tests (we live in the real world) but do be prepared to answer technical questions to demonstrate your knowledge.
* A final call to get clarification on anything outstanding and discuss terms
