React-Node GIS Enhancement
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I need an experienced full-stack developer to jump straight into an existing React.js + Node.js platform and push its mapping features to the next level. The immediate focus is on the backend and database layer: extending our Node/Express services, fine-tuning a MySQL schema, and making sure geospatial and financial data flow smoothly through the system.
The key challenge is deep Google Maps work. You’ll be parsing and displaying KMZ and KML layers, wiring them to live MySQL queries, and exposing clean API endpoints the current React front-end can consume. Solid GIS know-how is a must; you’ll be working with spatial indexes, projection quirks, and distance calculations every day.
Because this is an enhancement, the core codebase is already in place and well-documented. What I need from you is:
• New and refactored Node.js endpoints that deliver geospatial and related financial data in milliseconds
• MySQL upgrades—tables, views, and indexes—optimised for spatial queries (ST_Distance, RTree, etc.)
• Seamless upload and parsing of large KMZ/KML files, with progress feedback and robust error handling
• A quick Google Maps integration pass that renders new layers, markers, and dynamic polygons without affecting current UI performance
I’m looking for someone who can start right away, work independently, and keep communication tight. Five or more years of production-level React, Node, and MySQL experience will set you up for success, especially if you’ve shipped GIS-heavy features before.
