React-Node E-Commerce Platform
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
The assignment is to build a modern, scalable e-commerce web application with React.js on the front end and Node.js/Express on the back end. Performance, clean architecture, and future extensibility are the priorities.
The only commerce feature that has to ship in this phase is secure customer account management—sign-up, login, profile editing, and order history—implemented with industry-standard practices such as JWT or OAuth for authentication and bcrypt (or similar) for password hashing. No payment gateway, vendor dashboard, or inventory module is needed yet, but the codebase should be structured so those pieces can slot in later without major refactoring.
I will share wireframes and a simple style guide; your role is to translate them into a responsive single-page application, expose the necessary API endpoints, and deliver a repository that spins up with a single docker-compose command.
Deliverables
• React front end with routing, state management, and reusable components
• Node/Express back end with clear controller-service-model separation and a MongoDB or Postgres data layer
• Fully tested customer authentication and authorization flows
• Environment-based configuration, concise setup documentation, and clean Git history
Code quality, maintainability, and thoughtful component structure matter more to me than bells and whistles. If this sounds like a fit, I’m ready to move quickly.
