Ice Cream ERP React & Node

I’m building a lightweight ERP for my ice-cream business, and the first milestone is a solid inventory-management module written in React.js (front-end) and Node.js (back-end). The core need is reliable stock monitoring—ingredients (milk, sugar, flavours) and finished tubs—across our kitchen and two shops.

Here’s what I need you to deliver:
• A React.js single-page dashboard that lists current stock by location, shows low-stock warnings, and lets staff record stock movements (goods-in, wastage, transfers).
• A clean Node.js REST (or GraphQL, if you prefer) API with authentication, role-based permissions, and well-documented endpoints.
• Database schema and migration scripts for items, units, warehouses, and movement logs.
• Your recommendation on real-time versus scheduled updates: I’m undecided, so outline the tech (WebSockets, polling, etc.), pros/cons, and how it affects hosting costs.
• Setup docs and a brief video or screenshots so my non-technical manager can follow along.

The code should be modular because I may add sales tracking and employee scheduling next. Feel free to suggest the data store you’re most comfortable with (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB are all fine).

Acceptance criteria:
1. Stock counts update correctly after each transaction.
2. Low-stock alerts trigger at configurable thresholds.
3. API passes automated tests covering CRUD and permission checks.
4. Front-end builds cleanly with npm/yarn and runs on a standard Node 18 environment.
