The current process involves manual data entry into Excel documents for tracking loads, payments, and generating weekly reports and invoices. This process is time-consuming and prone to errors. We aim to automate and streamline our operations by developing a custom web application.
Objectives:
To develop a user-friendly web application that automates the entry and tracking of load information.
To create a system that automatically generates invoices and weekly reports based on the entered data.
To allow for real-time data access and updates by different divisions within the company.
Key Features:
Load Management: Ability for dispatchers to book loads, including details like dispatcher name, driver name, order ID, pickup/delivery dates, origin/destination, vehicle, broker name, price, broker fee, payment form, and additional comments.
Driver Accounts: Drivers can view their scheduled loads, update status upon completion, and view their earnings and deductions.
Automated Invoicing and Reporting: Automatically generate invoices for drivers and detailed weekly reports for accounting purposes.
User Management: Different access levels for drivers, dispatchers, accounting staff, and management.
Dashboard: Real-time dashboards for monitoring operations, outstanding invoices, and driver performance.
Technical Requirements:
Frontend: Responsive UI, compatible with all major browsers and devices. Preference for React, Vue.js, or Angular.
Backend: Secure and scalable, with RESTful API development. Open to suggestions (e.g., Django/Python, Node.js, Ruby on Rails).
Database: Relational database preferred (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL). Design to efficiently store and relate various entities like loads, drivers, invoices, etc.
