I’m building a desktop-based system that streamlines incoming customer-service appointments and confirms every visitor’s identity through real-time facial recognition. The flow is straightforward: a customer books a time slot, arrives at their computer, and our app activates the local webcam to match their face against the reference image stored at booking. A positive match automatically checks them in and launches the live customer-service session; a mismatch triggers a manual review prompt.
Here is the scope I need you to cover:
• A lightweight desktop client (Windows first, cross-platform if feasible) with a clean appointment calendar, queue view for staff, and a small preview window for the camera feed.
• On-device facial recognition powered by OpenCV, dlib/face_recognition, or a comparable library—accuracy must stay above 95 % in normal lighting.
• Simple enrolment screen so customers can capture or upload a reference photo when they schedule the appointment.
• Secure local storage or encrypted API calls for facial templates; privacy compliance is a must.
• Event hooks so our existing customer-service software can receive check-in status, start a VoIP or chat session, and log the visit.
• Clear build instructions and a short test suite that proves identity match, mismatch, and spoofing attempt handling.
