I need a creative raspberry pi specialist for a bus route indicator

Hi! I don’t know much about raspberry pi. My partner has been talking about it constantly. Primarily, he’d like a contraption that indicates how far away our local city bus is from our apartment. More or less, we’d like some sort of indicator to let us know when we need to leave to catch the bus.

He said that the raspberry pi would need to take the data from the MBTA to determine where the nearest buses are.
