Raspberry Pi/Digital Camera Integration

Hi, I need help getting two digital cameras intergrated with a Raspberry Pi. I'm working on a book archiving project, and have purchased two Canon Ixus 185 cameras, but unable to get the softawre, PiScan, to recognise them.

I'm wondering if this is something someone can help me work through?
