KernelSu Rooting for Raspberry Pi
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I already have LineageOS 20 from KonstaKANG running smoothly on my Raspberry Pi 4 and Magisk is giving me temporary root access, but I now want a cleaner, kernel-level solution. The goal is to rebuild or patch the existing LineageOS kernel so it works with KernelSu Next and drop Magisk completely.
Here is the current state:
• Raspberry Pi 4, 64-bit LineageOS 20 image from https://konstakang.com/devices/rpi4/LineageOS20/
• Root achieved with the latest Magisk build.
• SafetyNet passes, but I still fail the full Integrity Checker that Google is rolling out.
What I need from you:
1. Recommend the most stable KernelSu Next release for this device—feel free to explain trade-offs because I have not fixed on any particular version yet.
2. Re-compile or otherwise patch the existing kernel so KernelSu Next loads at boot and provides superuser functions.
3. Make sure the device reaches a “full” Integrity Checker pass once KernelSu is in place.
4. Provide a reproducible build process (scripts, config files, or step-by-step notes) so I can redo the setup on future images without starting from scratch.
Acceptance criteria:
• KernelSu Next boots by default and grants root via its manager app.
• Magisk is fully removed.
• Integrity Checker in Play Integrity API returns “MEETS_DEVICE and MEETS_BASIC” (or whatever the current full pass status is).
• All changes are documented clearly enough for me to replicate.
Relevant tools and languages likely include AOSP build environment, GCC/Clang cross-compiler for arm64, fastboot, adb, and standard Linux utilities; use what you prefer as long as the end result meets the criteria above.
Let me know any additional information you require—kernel source links, defconfig files, or logcat outputs—and roughly how long you expect the turnaround to be once you start.
