Driveway Gate Keypad Controller Development

The purpose of this software is to utilize a Raspberry Pi, USB Hex keypads, and a relay that integrates with the Raspberry Pi to open one or more gates and log user entrance by gate number, date, and time. The software will include a basic web interface that will be designed in such a way that itβs data will be securely and easily passed to the business management software and end user website.
1. Customer
a. Customer information passed from the website
i. Last name
ii. First name
iii. Street address
iv. City
v. State
vi. Zip
vii. Email
viii. Phone number
ix. Four digit code
1. Software will verify that the code is unique
2. If the code is in use the customer will be asked to pick a new number
2. Admin
a. Customer information passed from the admin software
i. Last name
ii. First name
iii. Street address
iv. City
v. State
vi. Zip
vii. Email
viii. Phone number
ix. Four digit code
1. Software will verify that the code is unique
2. If the code is in use the customer will be asked to pick a new number
b. The admin will be able to view the following data from the admin software
i. Search for access dates and times by user name
ii. Search for access by date, time and gate number
iii. Admin or admin software automatically will have the ability to lock out a code and block the user from establishing a new code
iv. Admin or admin software automatically will have the ability to delete a code and block the user from establishing a new code
3. Operation
a. User enters gate code followed by the # sign
b. Software verifies gate code entered against the code database
i. If the code it in the database:
1. Software activates the relay associated with the gate located next to the keypad
2. Software logs the gate number, customer name, date, and time of entry
ii. If the code is not in the code database
1. Software denies access
2. Software logs the gate number, customer name, date, and time of incorrect code entry
3. If an incorrect code is entered three times, software will send a text message to the on site manager.
