Configure Vintage Pi TV Boot - Pi 4
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’ve cloned the vintage-pi-tv project (https://github.com/dtcooper/vintage-pi-tv) exactly as-is, with no custom tweaks, but it never reaches any channels/interface dashboard, or vintage-TV splash on boot; instead I end up at the regular blank screen on the pi 4 monitor.
What I need is a clean, reproducible re-configuration so the software:
• starts automatically at power-on,
• displays full-screen over DisplayPort without tearing or resolution issues, and
• returns control to the system gracefully when I exit or shut down.
Please diagnose the current setup, adjust any systemd service files, dependencies, and /boot/config.txt or cmdline.txt options as required, then give me:
1. the corrected configuration files and commands you applied,
2. a concise step-by-step guide I can re-run on a fresh image, and
3. a quick validation summary (boot log screenshot or short video is fine) showing the vintage-pi-tv interface appearing as expected.
Once your instructions let the animation appear automatically on first boot, I’ll consider the job done.
