Automated Photo Booth Software Development
Budget: ₹37,500 – ₹75,000 INR
We are building a fully automated Polaroid photo booth intended for placement across Bangalore. The booth will offer customers:
- Instant photo capture.
- Digital payment via UPI (Razorpay).
- Instant Polaroid-style printed photo strips.
Our entire hardware stack is pre-decided, including:
- Raspberry Pi 4B as the core processing unit.
- Touchscreen monitor as the customer interface.
- Logitech StreamCam as the photo capture device.
- Canon Selphy CP1500 as the photo printer.
We are looking to hire a freelance full-stack software developer experienced in Raspberry Pi setups to build the entire software stack for this booth.
Customer Interaction Flow (UX):
1. Customer approaches booth.
2. Touchscreen UI shows:
- Welcome screen.
- Guide on usage.
- Payment instructions.
3. Customer completes UPI payment via Razorpay.
4. System triggers:
- Webcam preview.
- Countdown timer.
- Photo capture (1 or 4 photos depending on mode).
5. Image is processed and formatted into a Polaroid-style strip (like 4-photo strips).
6. Printed instantly via Canon Selphy.
7. Booth resets for next user.
• Software Requirements (frontend UI):
- Touchscreen-friendly interface.
- Minimal, responsive HTML/CSS/JS-based UI.
- Chromium Browser will display UI in Kiosk Mode (fullscreen).
- Elements:
Welcome screen.
Razorpay payment status tracking.
Photo capture preview + countdown timer.
Post-photo screen + printing confirmation.
Loop reset after printing.
•Backend
- Control system written in Python (preferred) or Node.js.
- Flask or similar lightweight web framework.
- Handle:
USB webcam control (Logitech StreamCam).
Photo capturing via webcam.
Image processing (overlay, collage creation using OpenCV/PIL).
Razorpay payment status integration via API.
Control Canon Selphy printer (via CUPS or direct USB command).
System state management (reset after each customer session).
• Image Processing
- Merge 4 photos vertically to mimic Polaroid strip.
- Apply basic image filters (optional).
- Format image for Canon Selphy print dimensions (6x4 inches).
• Payment Integration
- Razorpay API to generate QR code for UPI payments.
- Listen for webhook or API status confirmation.
- Proceed only after successful payment.
• Printer Control
- Handle print jobs via Raspberry Pi.
- Use CUPS print server or appropriate USB-based printing command.
• System Auto-Launch
- Chromium runs in Kiosk Mode to load UI on startup.
- Backend service starts automatically at Pi boot.
- No manual intervention required.
