Radio Network Setup for Fleet Tracking

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

We are seeking a skilled and experienced radio communications specialist to assist in the design, procurement, and setup of a hybrid VHF/UHF radio and Starlink-integrated communication system. This system will support the monitoring of truck fleets transporting cargo from Lae Port to Porgera Mine Site in Papua New Guinea.

Scope of Work:

Design and recommend a suitable VHF/UHF radio repeater network for mountainous terrain.

Advise on integration with Starlink Internet and Radio over IP (RoIP) gateways.

Guide procurement of all hardware (radios, repeaters, antennas, solar, Starlink, etc.).

Assist with network planning including tower placement, coverage areas, and failovers.

Optionally support remote configuration or on-site deployment supervision (preferred but negotiable).

Develop a basic operations and maintenance guide for our local team.


Requirements:

Proven experience with radio network deployment, preferably in remote or rugged environments.

Strong understanding of RoIP systems and IP-radio integration.

Familiarity with Starlink satellite internet deployment and limitations.

Ability to provide technical documentation and liaise with suppliers.

Experience working in the Pacific region or similar developing country context is an advantage.

Deployment and testing support

Basic training for operations staff (remote or on-site)


Budget:
