RabbitMQ Cluster Support Needed

Job ID: 40598491

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

Seeking a RabbitMQ SME & Production Support Specialist to support enterprise customers with the day-to-day reliability, troubleshooting, and operational health of their RabbitMQ platforms. This role is focused on hands-on production support — keeping clusters healthy, resolving incidents quickly, and helping customers avoid repeat issues — rather than greenfield architecture or long-term platform strategy.

This role is intentionally scoped to accommodate two levels of seniority:
Senior Production Support Engineer profile (deep troubleshooting, incident response, tuning), or
Support Engineer profile (hands-on operations, monitoring, day-to-day maintenance)
Candidates with strength in either profile will be considered. Scope, responsibility, and rate will be aligned accordingly.

Provide production support to enterprise RabbitMQ customers across on-prem, VM, cloud, and Kubernetes environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve cluster, node, and broker-level issues, including live production incidents
Perform performance tuning and optimization, including quorum queues, streams, memory, disk, and networking under load.

Participate in incident response, root cause analysis (RCA) creation, and proactive reliability engineering.

Monitor platform health using observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Kubernetes, Tanzu integrations) and respond to alerts.

Support upgrades (Community and Tanzu RabbitMQ), including version transitions
Assist with automation of RabbitMQ operations via Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
Document recurring issues, fixes, and runbooks to reduce repeat incidents.

Escalate and collaborate with architecture-level SMEs on structural or design-level issues
Communicate directly with customer engineering teams during active support engagements.

Senior Production Support Engineer Profile
7+ years of RabbitMQ experience, with significant time in production support or on-call operations
Deep hands-on troubleshooting expertise across RabbitMQ Community (3.12+ / 4.1+) and Tanzu RabbitMQ
Strong track record resolving live incidents under time pressure
Solid understanding of HA/DR behavior, observability, and upgrade risk
Comfortable communicating directly with customer technical stakeholders during incidents
