Embedded VMS for PC NVR
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I am finalising a custom PCB that will serve as the heart of a PC-based Network Video Recorder, and I now need a lean, embedded Video Management Software layer built in C / C++ with Qt. The processor family and memory map are already defined (details shared on NDA), so the code has to respect the board’s limits while staying fully featured.
Mandatory capabilities
• Live video streaming from connected IP cameras
• Continuous and event-based video recording to the onboard storage
• Motion detection with configurable sensitivity and trigger callbacks
Everything must run headless yet offer hooks for a lightweight Qt UI (local display or remote). The solution should compile cleanly with the cross-toolchain I provide, run without swap, and expose clear API endpoints so I can integrate it with higher-level management software later.
Deliverables
• Well-documented C/C++/Qt source code, third-party licence list, and build scripts
• Ready-to-flash image or install package for my PCB test jig
• Setup guide covering compilation, configuration, and API use
Once a first build is stable, I will supply camera streams for field tests and benchmark figures for optimisation. If you have prior experience embedding VMS on constrained hardware, tell me how you would structure the pipeline and your estimated timeline so we can get started.
