a python program for generating set of excel files

I am looking to develop a custom Python program that can generate a set of 6-10 Excel files. The program should be able to take the pre-existing Excel datasheet that I have and use it to create a set of files that can be read and manipulated as needed. Structure of the generated files should also be customizable, and they should have the capability to store and analyze data in any way needed.
