improve python app and enable app connection with Elasticsearch cluster via ssl

We have an application written in python. It manages the records stored inside elasticsearch database.
The code is not well written and needs improvements (remoe and/or rewrite some parts).
In addition, after securing the elasticsearch cluster, the app is no longer able to access the cluster.
