Use Python to compute mean, median, etc from multiple satellite imagery

I'd like to compute some metrics from multiple satellite imagery using array in python(or R). Inputs are satellite data so familiarity with this is helpful, though can share codes that you can use to read in the values in the satellite imagery. Your work will be to compute the metrics (e.g., values greater than the median value, etc) from the satellite imagery as shown in the attached image.
