Train a model to summarize scholarly papers/advanced research/scientific papers

We need to obtain the summary of the research/scientific papers accurately. We already have multiple models that are doing fine with simple plain text. The ideal case would be where the developer comes up with a model he trained and can be used for summarizing research/scientific papers. I don't want to BERT or other pre-trained models because it reduces our scope as far as the customization is concerned.

Please come up with something we can use to summarize advanced paper/long texts
