Project Title
Automated Data Pipeline for Tennis Leaderboards & Reporting
Background
Our organisation manages a year‑round calendar of junior and adult tennis tournaments. At present, staff manually export results from Tournament Planner (TP), copy data into Excel, build leaderboards, and update event details on our website and social media. This process is labour‑intensive and error‑prone. We have TP backup files (TPBACKUP) and want to automate data extraction and reporting.
Project Goal
Build an end‑to‑end solution that automatically converts Tournament Planner backup files into live leaderboards and event reports, with outputs integrated into Adobe AEM. The system should:
Parse TP backups to extract players, events, entries (including seeds, withdrawals and wildcards), and points.
Upload data to Airtable to calculate rankings and maintain a complete history of entries and withdrawals.
Update outputs on our Adobe AEM site and social media automatically, without manual file copying.
Deliverables
A working parser that can read .TPBACKUP files, map fields to our Airtable schema, and handle duplicates and fuzzy name matches.
An automated workflow (Google Apps Script, Zapier, or equivalent) that monitors a Google Drive folder for new backups, triggers the parser, and uploads data to Airtable.
An Adobe AEM integration that displays the live leaderboard with filters for division/event and last‑updated timestamp.
Documentation and training materials showing how to upload backups, resolve any data conflicts, and adjust the system for new events or divisions.
A short handover session and 30‑day technical support after delivery.
Required Skills
Strong Python or JavaScript for writing file‑parsing scripts.
Experience with Google Apps Script or cloud functions to monitor Drive folders.
Proficiency with Airtable API and database schema design.
Familiarity with Zapier or other automation platforms.
Experience integrating data feeds into Adobe AEM.
Understanding of data security and privacy best practices.
Timeline & Budget
