Staff Software Engineer (Backend Focus)

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Staff Full Stack Engineer with a backend focus to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend systems while working closely with the frontend team to build robust and scalable full-stack applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python or Ruby on Rails.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic using React or Angular.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices and standards.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of applications, especially backend services.
- Develop and manage databases, including schema design, queries, and optimizations.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment processes.
- Work with cloud platforms and infrastructure, with a focus on deployment and DevOps practices.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and help mentor junior developers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to improve performance and reduce errors.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of professional experience in full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on backend development.
- Proficiency in Python, Java or Ruby on Rails for backend development.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and web services.
- Expertise in version control (Git) and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Slack).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks for both backend and frontend (e.g., PyTest, RSpec, Jest, Mocha).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana).
Timezone Requirement:
- Must be available to work within US timezone (EST) for real-time collaboration and communication.
Language Requirement:
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal).
