Server-side Code Optimization for Python Anvil Web App

Job ID: 37594172

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

*Must be experienced with Python's Anvil Framework*

We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer with a strong background in Python Anvil web applications. We have developed a prototype for a simple, single-page web application using Python's Anvil Framework. Our single-page web app is meant to function as an analytics dashboard; as this application deals with business-related data, minimizing latency is a must.

Your main tasks would be to:
(a) update the existing prototype with business-related data (which will be provided to you)
(b) optimize the server-side code to help improve the efficiency of data retrieval and manipulation procedures (e.g. adjusting server side calls, for example - https://anvil.works/forum/t/database-calls-single-vs-multiple-cost-and-performance/2334/3); and
(c) deploy the Python Anvil web application to Digital Ocean (for further information see: https://anvil.works/docs/how-to/app-server/cloud-deployment-guides/digitalocean-app-server-deployment)

Key responsibilities:
- Refactor server-side code to enhance performance
- Ensure efficient retrieval and manipulation of business data
- Manage deployment of the application to the cloud, specifically using Digital Ocean.

Skills and experience:
- Must have experience with Python Anvil web application development
- Proven experience in server-side code optimization
- Experience in deploying applications to the cloud - especially Digital Ocean
- Familiarity with business data handling including data security
- Strong ability for identifying and fixing bottlenecks.
- Preference will be given to freelancers with experience in Django (as a future project will involve moving the app from Anvil to Django)

The total budget for this project is $200 Australian Dollars (AUD) with an estimated delivery time of 1-week; as the prototype has already been developed, we believe this is a suitable budget/timeline for an experienced Anvil developer. Regular check-ins and updates on progress are required.

If you are interested in taking on this project, please submit your OVERALL bid and estimated delivery time. To be considered, you must include a description of your experience with Python Anvil Web applications and cloud deployment to Digital Ocean.

** Please note - Freelancers who are NOT experienced in Anvil will not be considered.**
