Self replicating ai (agi)

Hello my name is mat I am studying computer science and I am learning a lot about Programming mainly python I came across a project idea I found to be interesting it’s about the possibility of self-replicating ai. I have noticed that at times in the past have struggled with teaching machines how to program I feel that this is due to teaching the machines being taught assembly code. Assembly code as I am sure you know was designed for humans to understand. I came to a hypothesis that if we can teach machines simple binary that they would be able to write its own code creating self replicating ai
