Report Conversion and Automation: Python

Job ID: 33367417

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

There are about 30 Forms/reports that are to be submitted to Federal semi-annually with very specific requirements. These reports have already been written and designed in SAS programing language. Each Form/report extracts data from the SQL Server Table and then is formatted to the Federal requirement via SAS programs and macros. Once each Form is validated, SAS writes the report in CSV format and saves it in a specific folder. Each report (CSV) is then being validated via Federal validation tools and if it passes the requirements, it will be uploaded to the Federal report repository server. I need these reports to be converted from SAS to Python and be automated to extend possible. Most of SAS logic is straightforward logic such as variable/column name assignment (ex= Sex = Gender). Others are mainly if then else statements. Few use arrays and a bit more complex logic such as SAS macros. Due to very stringent security requirements, I can't share any data. The best scenario and practice is I can provide you the SAS program, you convert to Python, I test and we can both troubleshoot and once each Form/report is 100% validated, we move to the next one. I expect there is a good learning curve at the beginning but once completely grasped the structure, we can fast forward. I would like to get your ideas on how to go about it and if you had any exposure to a similar project. I would also like to know if you have had any SAS programming experiences. If yes, that is a bonus. If not, you may need to do a bit of research and figure out what SAS does in a specific script on your own. The desired outcome would be 100% automation. I have a fixed budget, but I need to hear from you and your background first. Please write a paragraph or two and describe your approach.

Thank you
