Recommendation in Python/SQL/Java

We currently use Airtable as Database.
We want to write custom code to do some recommendation based on some constraints. Check airtable.com/developers/scripting
All the data will be available on airtable itself. The script must pull info from tables, match them against user profile data, use this to filter some info and finally throw the best fit recommendation out of the db itself.
Then if even the best fit recommendation doesn;t suit the user, it needs to customize the recommendation to match the constraints.
It is in the food / dish recommendation space. Can share more details if needed.
Even if you code in python/sql, i am okay with it - we might then have to migrate from airtable for mysql
