Project Description:
We are looking to hire a skilled developer or team to build a real-time helmet detection and vehicle number plate recognition system using computer vision and machine learning technologies. The goal is to develop a solution that can accurately detect whether a rider is wearing a helmet and simultaneously capture and recognize the vehicle's number plate from video footage or live camera feeds.
Key Objectives:
Detect motorcyclists and identify if they are wearing helmets in real time
Detect and recognize vehicle number plates accurately under various lighting and weather conditions
Integrate the detection system with live video input (CCTV or IP cameras)
Generate alerts or store violations when helmet is not detected or number plate is unreadable
Optional: Store data (image + metadata) in a database or cloud-based system for later retrieval
Preferred Skills:
Strong experience with OpenCV, YOLO, or other object detection models
Familiarity with OCR libraries like Tesseract, EasyOCR, or commercial ANPR solutions
Python preferred (other languages acceptable with justification)
Experience working with real-time video processing and system optimization
Knowledge of deploying models on edge devices (like Jetson Nano or Raspberry Pi) is a plus
Deliverables:
Fully functional system that performs real-time detection
Source code and documentation
Deployment guide and setup instructions
Optional: Dashboard for viewing logs and violation history
