DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AEROFOILS FOR VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINES
The project’s objective is to take existing small wind turbine airfoils, generate new airfoils by interpolation and suggest the airfoils that produce minimum loss in maximum Coefficient of Lift (CLmax) and maximum Aerodynamic efficiency (Emax) .Designing better pool of airfoils for design and off design conditions using Genetic Algorithm and Neural Networks. Finally it is hoped that the data generated is comparable in a real world scenario and this analysis is done through CFD analysis in ANSYS Fluent.
