Python developer needed for Inventory Consolidation

Job ID: 37832669

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to develop a tool capable of merging multiple CSV files into a single, comprehensive spreadsheet.

We have a list of inventory from many grocery stores in the city. Most of the items on the list are the same. We just want to create a single spreadsheet with the same products showing the prices of each store in a different column. If the item is not available in the store, we will enter 0 for the value.

We also have to ensure that identical products, despite having slightly different names across stores, are recognized and accurately consolidated.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Design and develop a tool that intelligently combines inventory data from multiple CSV files into one unified spreadsheet.

2) Implement algorithms capable of identifying and matching product names that differ slightly between sources (e.g., "Nutella 1L" vs. "Nutella 1 Litre").

3) Ensure the final spreadsheet displays each store's prices for the products in separate columns, inserting a value of "0" where a product is not available in a store.

4) Incorporate product categorization features, allowing the tool to recognize and correctly group products into their respective categories.

Requirements:

1) Proven experience background in Python or a similar programming language.

2) Experience with data manipulation and consolidation, especially working with CSV files.

4) Ability to work independently, with precision and attention to detail.
