Python developer

Job ID: 37436750

Hi, I have an existing project that was built (in 2019) on a Raspberry Pi 3. I am looking at duplicating this project to run on Pi 4 and 5.

I have tried to move the Python project files to the new Pi but when I try to run the script, it will complain about dependencies that are no longer available on the newer versions of Raspbian. I have spent time on trying to resolve this myself but my knowledge is limited.

The libraries that it is trying to access are: PyQt5 and Adafruit_GPIO. I am happy for the newer versions of the the libraries to be installed or substituted to something newer. As long as the end result is the same.

The python script will launch a GUI for a user. The GUI will allow them to control a relay hat that I have installed on the Raspberry Pi. There is also a thermal sensor connected to read the temp.

All the user controls and functions stay exactly the same. I just require someone to modify the script to use libraries that work on newer version of Raspbian.

I can provide the project files to you via email or you can login via Teamviewer (or a mix of both). I am happy to work around the dev.
