Python back tester for Pine Script strategies
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Python back tester for Pine Script strategies
Work description
1. Translating simple Pine Script strategies to Python
2. Integration of translated strategy in to back testing software
3. Improving back testing software
Introduction
Hello my name is Jonathan. During the day I’m a maintenance engineer, but in the evening I’m a semiprofessional Pine Script trading strategy designer.
Every person who works with strategies knows that it’s all about getting the settings right for each timeframe and pairing.
Thanks to Tradingview’s strategy tester, it’s possible to find the “best” settings for each situation, although this can be very time consuming.
In order to save time, two years ago, I hired a freelance programmer to translate these strategies to Python. Together we’ve worked on making a (working) back testing software (Optimizer) that can give the best parameters of a strategy within a selected time frame.
Since I like working with the Optimizer, I have a few things that I would like to have changed.
I also have a few new strategies which need to be translated to Python. For every strategy the Optimizer has a different Tkinter GUI.
Unfortunately my programmer is too busy for the coming months and I would like to continue.
Together we’ve decided it’s best for me to find a new programmer.
Required programming skills:
Pine Script version 4
Python and the following packages:
Backtrader
Cycler
DateTime
Kiwisolver
Matplotlib
Numpy
Pandas
Pillow
Pyparsing
Python-dateutil
Pytz
Six
Zope.interface
Tkinter
Required personal skills:
Friendly
Honest
Direct
Plan of action
If you think you can help me out, please let me know and perhaps you can give me some additional information regarding relevant experiences.
Once I’m convinced I’ll send you the optimizer app + additional Pine script strategy that I would like to have integrated just like the other strategies in the optimizer app.
That way you have a perfect example on what exactly needs to be done, and you should be able to send me a price + delivery date.
If we come to an agreement on the above, we can continue working the same way later on;
1. I’ll send you the scripts/information what needs to be done
2. You send me a price and delivery date
3. You get the work if the price and delivery* date is agreed
4. I’ll review the work and potentially we start this cycle again on something different.
*delivery date is less important, day/weeks are okay but not months.
