Python alghoritm for nesting irregular parts from dxf files

Job ID: 39520686

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

I'm looking for someone who can urgently implement a genetic algorithm for 2D nesting (optimal placement of shapes on a sheet) in Python. I already have a working project structure and code – I only need the core genetic algorithm module.
What I already have:

DXF file parsing – I convert shapes into lists of coordinates (polygons).

Nesting visualization – I can display the nesting result on a sheet with specified dimensions.

The project is modular and cleanly structured. Input data is ready to be passed into the algorithm.

What I need:

Implementation of a genetic algorithm based on a scientific paper (I’ll send the PDF).

The algorithm should accept input in the current format and return the placement of parts on the sheet.

It should integrate well with the existing project codebase (I can share the repository or relevant parts).

Requirements:

Deadline: max. 48 hours from the start of the job.

Please let me know your fixed price or hourly rate with an estimated number of hours.

Ideally: modular, clean code + brief documentation or usage example.

I’m available for quick consultations during development (via Fiverr messages or Discord, if needed).

Would you be interested and available to take this on within the given timeframe?
