Python Tool for Construction Progress Monitoring
Budget: $10 – $50 USD
I'm looking for an experienced Python developer to finalize a tool for automated construction progress monitoring. The tool compares two point cloud files (as-planned vs. as-built), detects construction elements using existing object recognition code, and generates a professional Bill of Quantities (BOQ) report.
Deliverables (Within 2–3 Days):
• Load & visualize two 3D point clouds using Open3D
• Integrate provided object recognition module
• Generate clean BOQ reports (Excel/PDF) from detected elements
• Build a simple, user-friendly interface for file input, element selection, and BOQ output
Ideal Skills:
• Proficiency in Python, with Open3D/PyVista, Pandas/NumPy
• Familiarity with GUI tools (Tkinter / PyQt / Streamlit)
• Basic understanding of construction elements & BOQs
• Bonus: Experience with BIM, IFC, or 3D model comparison
