Python / Selenium / YAML: Paste text in textbox

Dear freelancers,
I need a solution to paste a text (in format date of birth, DD.MM.YYYY) to a textbox on a website.
The code is python with selenium and yaml.
I am able to locate the textboth using xpath succesfully, but I am unable to write text into it. I tried many different ways, but I am not a (good) coder and thus had no success.
It is just one textbox, but since the process is complicated, you might need 2-3 hours to do it.
