Python Developer – Inbox-Based AI Maintenance Triage MVP (Gmail + Workflow)
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I’m building an early-stage B2B SaaS product (StrataOps) focused on workflow automation for property management companies.
For this MVP, I need a Python developer to build an AI-powered maintenance triage system that sits on top of a shared Gmail inbox.
The system should be able to:
Monitor incoming maintenance emails from tenants and property managers in a shared Gmail inbox.
Classify each email into categories (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, general, etc.).
Detect urgency and basic priority based on rules and content.
Extract key structured fields (tenant details, property, problem type, severity, timing, etc.) into JSON.
Prepare draft replies for tenants, and suggestions for vendors or next actions.
The MVP will be delivered in two main phases:
Core triage engine
Python-based service that takes raw email content as input and outputs structured JSON with classification, urgency, and suggested actions.
Clean, modular code with tests and logging (preferably FastAPI or similar framework).
Gmail integration
Connect to a shared Gmail inbox (using Gmail API).
Fetch incoming emails, pass them through the triage engine, and store results.
Create draft replies and apply appropriate labels based on the triage output.
What I’m looking for:
Strong Python experience (FastAPI, background tasks, testing).
Experience with Gmail API or similar email APIs.
Experience with LLMs / AI orchestration for classification and text generation is a plus, but you can also integrate with an existing LLM API that I will provide access to.
Production mindset: clean architecture, error handling, logging, and ability to scale this beyond a simple script.
Project details:
MVP scope only at this stage, but there is potential for ongoing work if the collaboration is successful.
Estimated 40–60 hours of work for the full MVP (core triage + Gmail workflow).
Please share:
Relevant projects you’ve built (especially around email processing, Gmail API, or workflow automation).
Your preferred Python stack and how you would structure this MVP.
Your availability for the next 2–3 weeks.
Important:
This project is NOT related to blockchain or crypto in any way.
Only apply if you are comfortable working in the 2–8 USD/hour range.
Skills required:
Python
API integration (Gmail API or similar)
JavaScript (nice to have for any small UI/admin interface)
AWS or similar cloud (for deployment)
Basic CSS/HTML (nice to have, not mandatory)
