Python Desktop Automation Script Needed
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am building a Windows-only desktop automation tool in Python that watches the screen, recognises visual cues, and then acts with believable, human-like timing. Using OpenCV (or a comparable vision library) alongside PyAutoGUI, the script should reliably detect Buttons, Icons, and some custom Map Elements that I will supply during onboarding. Once a target is recognised, the script must respond with Mouse clicks, Keyboard inputs, Scrolling, and Drag and Drop actions, each executed through slightly randomised delays and curved cursor paths so nothing looks synthetic.
The application will run quietly in the background, so please structure the code to avoid stealing focus or locking the UI. Prior experience automating full-screen desktop apps will be valuable; if you have tackled game or GIS interfaces before, even better.
Deliverables
• A well-commented Python 3 script (or small module set) that runs on Windows without manual intervention
• Image templates or a training routine for the Map Elements, packaged in an orderly folder structure
• A short README explaining configuration options, how to add new targets, and how to tweak delay profiles
• Optional: a minimal CLI or tray icon to start/stop the automation
Acceptance criteria
• >95 % detection accuracy on my supplied sample set
• All actions fire within the randomised ranges we agree on and respect user-defined break keys
• No visible flicker, window focus change, or excessive CPU usage during a one-hour continuous run
I will share the target application and full workflow once we sign an NDA. If the brief fits your skill set, let’s discuss your approach and any libraries or design patterns you prefer to use.
