AI-Powered Telegram Bot for Photo Location Identification -- 2
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
Project: Telegram Bot with AI to Identify Locations in Photos
Project Overview:
We are looking for a skilled developer (or development team) with experience in Telegram bots, computer vision, and artificial intelligence to create a Telegram bot that allows users to upload a photo and receive information about the location where it was likely taken.
The goal is to build a simple and accessible tool where users can send an image and get meaningful insights such as:
Name of the location (if identifiable)
City and country
Estimated coordinates
Link to Google Maps or Wikipedia
Optional: related keywords or similar landmarks
Why Telegram?
Instead of building a full mobile app, this project will begin with a lightweight and user-friendly Telegram bot. This allows faster development, easier testing, and immediate access for users without installing a separate application.
Bot Functionality
Image Upload
The user sends a photo to the bot (either taken live or uploaded from gallery)
If GPS metadata (EXIF) is available, it can be used for geolocation
AI Processing
The backend analyzes the image using AI (Google Cloud Vision, Amazon Rekognition, or a custom-trained model)
The system should be able to compare the image against public and private datasets to identify the place
Response
Place name (if detected)
City and country
Coordinates or map link
Wikipedia or external information link (if available)
Clean and informative message with all data found
Optional Features
Allow users to check their photo history
Admin panel to review queries and bot usage
Core Features
Telegram bot that accepts photo uploads
AI-powered backend for location recognition
Image comparison against public datasets such as:
Google Cloud Vision API
Mapillary
OpenStreetCam
Foursquare Places
Wikimedia Commons
Custom-trained models
Ability to train the system with custom image sets (e.g., private photo collections of landmarks, businesses, or specific cities)
Integration with Google Maps or OpenStreetMap
Wikipedia or knowledge base matching
English language support (Spanish or others optional)
Tech Stack Suggestions (Flexible)
Telegram Bot Framework: Python (python-telegram-bot) or Node.js (Telegraf.js)
AI Tools: Google Vision API, Amazon Rekognition, or custom model using TensorFlow/PyTorch
Hosting: AWS, Heroku, Render, Vercel, or similar
Database (optional): MongoDB, Firebase, or PostgreSQL
Optional Enhancements
Command support (/help, /about, /language)
Multilingual user interaction
Web dashboard for admin use (logs, image history)
Expandability to other platforms like WhatsApp or Discord
Deliverables
Fully functional Telegram bot
Deployed backend with working AI and dataset integration
Ability to load and train from custom image collections
Complete source code (bot and backend)
Setup and deployment documentation
Timeline
MVP: 2 to 3 weeks
Extended version with enhancements: 5 to 6 weeks
