PhD-level model reproduction and validation
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
fully recreate and validate a research-level chemical engineering model from a published paper, using Aspen Custom Modeler (ACM only).
In simple terms, he wants you to:
Rebuild the rotating packed bed (RPB) CO₂ stripper/regenerator described in the paper from scratch in ACM
Convert what was originally done with Aspen Plus + FORTRAN subroutines into native ACM equations and blocks
Implement all governing equations:
Mass and energy balances
Chemical reaction kinetics
Gas–liquid mass transfer correlations
Heat transfer and hydrodynamics specific to RPBs
Validate the model using the pilot-plant experimental data (Cheng et al.) reported in the paper
Prove that your ACM results match the literature
And deliver:
✔ A working ACM model file
✔ An Excel file comparing simulation results vs experimental data
✔ A Word document explaining assumptions, equations, correlations, and how everything was implemented step-by-step in ACM
Who they want:
Someone with very strong Aspen Custom Modeler experience
Deep knowledge of CO₂ absorption/stripping, mass transfer, and RPBs
Experience translating FORTRAN subroutine logic into ACM
Ideally a PhD-level researcher or equivalent background
