PDF Editing with Python: Text Replacement and Value Increments
Budget: $10 – $500 USD
This project involves editing PDF files using Python libraries that can manipulate text and formatting. The candidate should have prior experience in PDF editing with Python, such as PyPDF2, fizz, reportlab, etc.
The project tasks are:
Replacing specific text strings in 2 sample PDFs (TestDoc1A.pdf, TestDoc1B.pdf) and generating new PDFs that preserve the original layout, fonts, styles, images, etc.
Increasing a numeric value in the text of 2 other sample PDFs (TestDoc2A.pdf, TestDoc2B.pdf) by using the difference between the 2 files and generating new PDFs that preserve the original layout, fonts, styles, images, etc.
Ensuring that the generated PDFs are error-free and compatible with Mac OS.
Writing clear and commented code that follows good naming conventions.
Managing dependencies and setup smoothly.
I will provide 4 sample PDFs as attachments. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to edit these PDFs according to the tasks and retain all other aspects of the original PDFs.
I will evaluate the work by testing the edited PDFs on my system and reviewing the code quality.
