OpenAI Replit Setup with Flask

### **Job: Set Up OpenAI-Powered Replit Environment (Flask Backend)**

I'm looking for a freelance developer to help me set up a simple **Flask-based proxy server** in **Replit**, which will allow POST requests to OpenAI’s GPT API.

#### Your task:

* Set up a Flask app on Replit with a `/generate` route
* Use the `openai` Python library to forward prompts to GPT-4
* Read the OpenAI API key from Replit’s secret environment variables
* Return clean JSON responses
* Provide a testable public endpoint (Replit URL)
* (Optional but helpful) Add a homepage route (`/`) with a short status message

#### Details:

* I will **add you as a collaborator** to the Replit project
* I will **provide an OpenAI API key via Replit Secrets**
* You **do not need to build a frontend** — this is backend only
* Please use browser-based Replit only (no local deployment)

#### Deliverables:

* A working Flask app with a `/generate` endpoint that accepts JSON `{ "prompt": "..." }` and returns GPT-4 response
* Use of `requirements.txt` and `.replit` for proper execution
* Clean, testable code and working setup inside Replit
