Next.js Research Database Development with Search Features
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I'm in need of a seasoned front and back-end developer who is proficient with Next.js to construct a research database. This database must be capable of providing full-text search, advanced filtering options, and sorting capabilities. It's important that you have hands-on experience with these features.
The database should be built using PostgreSQL; hence, you should have extensive knowledge of this system and be able to optimize it for our needs. Your goal will be to develop a comprehensive, user-friendly database that can efficiently manage large quantities of research data. Success on this project will be assessed by the smooth operation of the search functionalities and the robustness of the database system.
Ideal Skills Required:
- Proficient in Next.js (front and back-end)
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of Full-text search, Advanced filtering options, and Sorting capabilities.
- Proficient in Python and typescript
Project Details:
Our project requires the development of a web-based research database with a keyword search engine. The database should be able to store text, csv and image data for efficient retrieval and analysis.
Key Features:
1. Database Design: Create a well-structured and scalable database to accommodate text, csv and image data.
2. Web-Based Platform: Develop the research database and search engine as a web-based application for easy access and compatibility across different devices.
3. Keyword Search Functionality: Implement a robust keyword search algorithm that allows users to search for specific terms within the database.
4. Efficient Data Retrieval: Optimize the search engine to retrieve relevant results quickly and accurately.
5. User-Friendly Interface: Design an intuitive and user-friendly interface for seamless navigation and efficient data management.
More than 80% work has been accomplished, so the candidate should be able to pick up from the spot where the project is at the moment.
Remaining work:
1. Creation of a database of the input files and linking it to the search engine.
2. Converting the existing two tools' python scripts to typescript and ensure their proper running in next.js
3. Addition of one new page with a search engine, which takes data from a few Excel sheets and shows in the form of tables as output (similar to point one).
4. UI/UX updates and final touchups.
5. Additional/ removal of a few images and Excel sheets, etc
Most of the APIs with respect to the search engine, tools, etc. are already present with us.
This will also provide you with an opportunity to associate yourself with the eminent IIT Gandhinagar.
