Need ASTERISK SIP server Python dev
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Summary:
I have an Linux ASTERISK SIP server. I want to get the audio stream from an inbound phone call.
You need to call the ASTERISK SIP server and play some sounds (such as a song by Taylor Swift) on the call. Then use Python programming language to get the audio from the inbound call on the SIP server. Save the audio as a .MP4 file on the same server.
Initiate a call to the Asterisk SIP server.
Play a song (Taylor Swift) during the call.
Capture the audio stream from the inbound call using Python.
Save the captured audio as an MP4 file on the same server.
Acceptance Criteria:
This works when:
I can make a call to the server using your instructions and an approved tool. An approved tool is Python or a common free open source SIP client such as LinPhone. Other tools might be fine if we agree to them in writing.
I can play another sound (another song by Taylor Swift) on a call from the approved tool and the audio from the inbound SIP call is recorded in a .MP4 audio file that I can play with VLC music player.
The Python code works on the Linux server using Python 3.12 and is commented and documented. It should not use any library which is not open source and popular. For example, import pyaudio is fine. Using libraries which are not popular is unacceptable. Using non-Python libraries is unacceptable. If you are not sure, ask and we can agree to them in writing. Using unapproved libraries that do not meet this criteria without a written exception is unacceptable.
Deliverables:
the python file(s)
any configuration changes made on the SIP server from it's current working state in order to accept inbound calls.
documentation of how to make an inbound phone call using a common tool such as Python or a common free open source SIP client such as LinPhone. I recommend to make this as simple as possible that you script it or write very clear step by step instructions that will work.
1 page of documentation on this system in English
Other:
I have several related SIP and Python coding projects. This one is important, but also helps me evaluate and find a new programming freelancer.
Security and scalability are not concerns for this project. It is a MVP.
