Monitor Twitch with Python

I'm hoping to use a python script that will run on a raspberry pi and can monitor a twitch stream to trigger gpio pins. It would be nice to have a couple triggers, specifically new followers to my channel to trigger one of the output pins (maybe pin 3?) and then either use channel points or just a chat command for another output pin.
