Microsoft Teams Bot and WhatsApp Bot Development in Python
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Note to Bidders: You may bid for the development of either one bot or both bots. Please specify clearly in your bid which bot(s) you are proposing to develop.
1. Project Overview
- Develop two separate Python-based bots: one for Microsoft Teams and one for WhatsApp
- Implement basic "Hello World" functionality for both bots
- Provide comprehensive documentation (NOTE: This is the most important aspect of this project)
- Deliver a private repository with all project files
- Offer a one-hour explanation session
- Both bots must be production-ready (not using development bot environments)
2. Microsoft Teams Bot (Python)
- Bot Registration and Authentication - Register the bot with Microsoft Bot Framework for production use - Set up Azure AD authentication - Configure necessary permissions and scopes
- Bot Development - Use Python Bot Framework SDK - Implement basic "Hello World" functionality - Ensure proper response to user messages c. Integration with Microsoft Teams - Configure the Python bot for Teams production environment - Test bot functionality within Teams
3. WhatsApp Bot (Python)
- Bot Registration and Authentication - Register for WhatsApp Business API (production account) - Set up authentication with WhatsApp servers - Configure webhook for incoming messages
- Bot Development - Use Python libraries compatible with WhatsApp API (e.g., Twilio) - Implement basic "Hello World" functionality - Ensure proper response to user messages c. Integration with WhatsApp - Configure the Python bot for WhatsApp production environment - Test bot functionality with WhatsApp
4. Documentation
- Provide detailed setup instructions for both Python bots
- Include configuration guides for authentication and registration
- Document Python code structure and functionality

5. Deliverables
- Private GitHub/GitLab repository containing:
- Python source code for both bots
- Configuration files
- Documentation (in Markdown format)
- README file with project overview and setup instructions
- Two separate requirements.txt files (one for each bot) listing all Python dependencies
6. Explanation Session
- Deliver a one-hour session covering:
- Python project structure and architecture
- Bot registration and authentication process
- Python code walkthrough
- Deployment and maintenance guidelines for Python bots
- Q&A
7. Timeline
- One week development period for each bot
- Explanation session at the end of the third week
8. Additional Notes
- Both bots must be developed for production environments, not using development or sandbox versions of the APIs
- Bidders may propose to develop either one bot or both bots
- Clear documentation on how to move from development to production environment must be included
