Introduction:
Our company is seeking a skilled developer to enhance our existing location booking software. This system is crucial for our operations, enabling clients to book spaces for events. The software's frontend is developed in Vue, with the backend written in Python, and PostgreSQL serving as our database. The system is containerized using Docker Compose, facilitating development, testing, and deployment processes.
Project Scope:
The primary focus of this assignment is to refine and expand the frontend functionality of our booking system. However, the successful candidate must also possess the capability to make backend adjustments as necessary. The system architecture is divided into separate Git repositories for frontend and backend+database, each orchestrated with Docker Compose.
Key Features to Implement:
Multi-Sided Booking Feature:
Introduce the functionality to book different sections of a location, specifically:
One side (New Side)
Two sides (Old Side)
The entire venue (Both Sides)
Admin-Managed Menus:
Develop an interface for administrators to create and manage menus. This includes:
A form for building menus with items and their respective prices.
Integration of these menus into the booking process, allowing customers to select from predefined menus during their booking.
Graphical Booking Interface:
Implement a graphical interface for the booking process, utilizing a freely available library. This interface should allow clients to visually select and book available times and dates.
The interface should be intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing, enhancing the overall user experience.
Technical Requirements:
Frontend Development:
Proficiency in Vue.js is essential, with experience in creating dynamic and responsive web applications.
Familiarity with integrating graphical interfaces into web applications, preferably with experience in booking or scheduling libraries.
Backend Development:
Solid understanding of Python, with the ability to modify and enhance backend logic as required.
Experience with PostgreSQL for database management and adjustments.
Docker and Version Control:
Comfortable working with Docker Compose for local development and testing.
