Intermediate Automated Test Writer - Part time, at your time, for a long time
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
We are rebuilding a software platform as a SaaS product in the Azure environment using .NetCore and a Blazor interface. We have already hired someone to set up a BDD (behave) framework in Python (behave uses tests written in a natural language style, backed up by Python code) and we looking for an intermediate test writer to continue writing tests as our SaaS development progress continues.
Background:
As a BDD implementation, tests will be created first, which can also act as a documentation equivalent to the user stories. Every user story is captured as a Feature. Feature consists of one or more scenarios, and scenarios consists of more than one step.
For creating Features, Gherkin is used for implementing the Selenium test automation scenarios. Scenarios in BDD are based on business and feature requirements as they can be well understood by technical as well as the non-technical crowd.
The right applicant will be happy to write automated tests on a part-time basis in conjunction with our bi-weekly Sprints cycle. The company is based in New Zealand and there is an expectation that the applicant will make themselves available for either the refinement meeting (held 9am NZT) or sometime between 9am and 9pm NZT to go through the work in the refinement so they understand what tests are required to be written.
A high level of written and spoken English is imperative - we work with numerous non-native speaking English people and heavily accented or poor English will not be accepted.
The applicant is expected to quickly grasp the salient requirements of the Sprint, the user flow and build tests that add value to the organisation and support back-end Unit Tests being developed at the same time.
The SaaS development is expected to continue for a further 2-years so this job is perfect for someone who may want some extra work over a long period of time.
