Python API Interface for USB-6525

I'm in need of a proficient developer to design a Python Interface for a National Instruments USB-6525. Although I'm uncertain whether we'll be using NI MAX software for configuration, the successful candidate will need to be adaptable and well versed in alternatives if this is not the case.
The interface should provide the following functionalities:
- Reading input signals
- Writing output signals
- Configuring digital I/O settings
Experience working with National Instruments hardware and Python programming is a must. The solution and possible alternatives shall be discussed and determined jointly before preparing final delivery.
The solution will be used on 64-bit Windows and shall not require any commersial software like LabVIEW.
