INSTALLATION AND RUNNING OF "PF3D" SOFTWARE IN SYSTEM
Budget: ₹2,500 – ₹5,000 INR
I am working in geology field. I need to know how to successfully install and run a software named "PF3D". It runs in Linux OS. I have little knowledge in software operations and my aim is to get the result on PF3D by adding particular values to scientific parameters.
Below is a brief note on working of PF3D software:
PF3D is based on a Volcanic ash dispersion prediction software named FALL3D.
PF3D consists of a series of Python scripts around the core dispersion model FALL3D which simplifies the modelling procedure.
PF3D is designed to run in a UNIX/Linux command line environment (e.g Ubuntu Linux).
Although directories and output files can be viewed and edited in a Windows environment the sourcecode is configured for execution on the UNIX/Linux command line only.
The user must therefore become familiar with basic UNIX commands to execute a simulation.
To run PF3D the following system requirements must be available:
A standard PC with at least 4GB of RAM and a Linux operating system and;
An internet connection (initial download only)
Command line accessible dependency softwares required for PF3D installations:
python-numpy
python-scientific
gfortran
python-gdal
gdal-bin
libnetcdf-dev
Manually configured dependency softwares required for PF3D installations:
hdf5-1.8.14 (http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/current/src)
netcdf-4.3.2 (ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf)
netcdf4-python-1.1.1 (https://github.com/Unidata/netcdf4-python/archive)
After the successful installation, the software running process is also based on the command prompt. The details of this is explained in details with the attached .pdf file.
