PROJECT OVERVIEW

We are a gut health startup that offers a Gut Function Test (GFT) which maps an individual’s microbiome status. Our clinical team uses this data, combined with symptom reports and dietary mapping sheets, to design personalized diet plans and root-cause interpretations for patients.

We want to build a tool that automates this entire process using a combination of fixed logic (from Excel mappings) and AI-generated clinical text.

1. Branded GFT Summary Report (PDF)
• Clean, simplified summary of microbial findings (top 5 harmful, bottom 5 beneficial)
• SCFA, immunity, digestion, mood, weight, and metabolism insights
• Incorporates GFT branding (colors, logo, layout template)

2. Personalized 3-Phase Diet & Lifestyle Plan (PDF)
• Phase 1: Remove triggers
• Phase 2: Restore missing good bacteria
• Phase 3: Reinforce with diet & habits
• Logic built from microbe-to-food mapping sheet + AI suggestions
• Friendly layout (checklists, examples)

3. Root-Cause Analysis Report (PDF)
• Explains how the GFT results are linked to the patient’s reported symptoms
• Uses symptom-to-microbe mapping + AI-generated clinical insights
• Narrative explanation in patient-friendly language with clinician-facing insights

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS

Logic Layer (Backend)
• Pull microbes linked to reported symptoms
• Identify overlapping microbes in GFT bottom/top list
• Pull recommendations from mapping sheet (VLOOKUP logic)
• Use GPT or similar to generate explanatory text per symptom cluster

UI/UX Expectations
• Upload panel: GFT report (CSV or structured JSON), symptom form, Excel sheets pre-uploaded in backend
• Simple dashboard to preview and export each of the 3 PDF outputs
• Optional: Admin panel to review/download past reports

• Backend: Python preferred (Pandas + OpenAI or similar)
• Frontend: Streamlit, Flask, or light web UI
• Output Engine: ReportLab / docx2pdf / FPDF / HTML-to-PDF conversion

• Design templates (PDF layouts) will be provided
